Deel Pricing 2026: EOR, Contractor, PEO and HR Costs Explained
Deel charges $49 per contractor and $599 per EOR employee a month in 2026. US PEO cards disagree, and the deposit is 1 to 1.5 months of cost.

Deel charges $49 per contractor per month and $599 per EOR employee per month, checked on Deel's pricing page on 16 October 2026. Contractor of Record is $325 a month, and the Hire card lists US PEO at $125 a month. Those four figures are platform fees only, so salary, employer taxes, and benefit premiums still sit on the invoice after you choose a product.
The other tabs add payroll, HR, IT, and a PEO ladder that does not match the Hire card. Toolradar data: Toolradar tracks 73 payroll tools as of 16 October 2026, and 16% of them are free, freemium, or open source, on its payroll ranking. Deel is in that set, and five contractors for a year cost $2,940 in platform fees on our arithmetic from the contractor rate, before any payment-method fee.
An employer of record is the legal employer where you have no entity, so use it when you need a local contract and will not open a subsidiary. A contractor plan pays someone you engage yourself, and it fits only if you will own the classification. US PEO is co-employment for a company that already has a US entity, and it is the wrong line for hires outside the United States.
What does each Deel hiring product cost?
Prices below are the Hire tab on 16 October 2026. Deel's pricing FAQ says billing is month to month and that no long-term contract is required. The page prints no annual EOR or contractor discount, so paying yearly does not lower either card.
| Product | Price | What the card says you are buying | What it does not include |
|---|---|---|---|
| Find talent | $14 per worker per month | Job posts, pipeline, AI screening, scheduling, a talent marketplace | Payroll or employment |
| Contractors | $49 per contractor per month | Contracts, invoicing, payments in 120+ currencies, tax forms | Deel holding the contract |
| Contractor of Record | $325 per contractor per month | The contractor line, with classification liability shifted to Deel | A local employment contract |
| US PEO, Hire card | $125 per employee per month | Co-employment in all 50 states, with benefits named on the card | A quote from the Pay tab, which prints different PEO rates |
| Employer of record | $599 per employee per month | Legal employment, payroll, benefits administration, compliance | Salary, statutory employer costs, and the deposit |
Find talent is a recruiting seat, not a discount on the other lines, so a worker you then employ or contract is a second product and a second fee. The product verdict, separate from this price list, is in the Deel review.
How much does Deel EOR cost per employee?
The EOR fee is a flat monthly platform charge per employee, so headcount multiplies it. The Hire card says full legal employment in 130+ countries, while the Pay tab's EOR card says 150+ countries for the same fee, and Deel also claims 150+ countries and more than 40,000 customers. Ask which list your hiring country is on before you rely on either count, because a missing country is a hire this product cannot make.
The pricing FAQ says the fee covers onboarding, local compliance, payroll processing, tax filings, benefits administration, and ongoing HR and legal support. It also says there are no surprise fees and that those items sit inside the quoted price. The help center still adds a refundable deposit, a mandatory employer liability cost with no printed rate, and fees when the contract currency is not the local one. The monthly card is the management fee, not the invoice.
Deel does not publish an annual EOR price, so nothing on the pricing page lowers the monthly card if you pay yearly. Country statutory costs sit on top of gross salary and change by country, region, and pay. For how other EOR vendors print their fees, use the EOR comparison.
How much does Deel charge per contractor?
Clients pay for active contracts, and Deel's cost article, updated 28 January 2026, says Deel does not charge the contractor or the employee a monthly subscription. Fixed contracts bill the contractor rate every active month, including months with no payment. Pay-as-you-go contracts bill only in a month with submitted work, an adjustment, or a one-off payment.
Milestone contracts bill for every month with an active milestone, so a milestone from 15 March to 15 May is three monthly fees rather than one.
A contract with no recorded payments for two consecutive months can draw a Contract Platform Fee of up to $5. Close empty contracts, or you pay to keep a name on the roster.
Contractor of Record costs more because Deel holds the contract and the classification liability while you direct the work. The gap against the standard rate is $276 a month, or $3,312 a year per person, and that prices the risk shift rather than a richer payroll product. Counsel has to say whether the worker can be a contractor. The contractor platform comparison sets both products next to other vendors.
Why do Deel's US PEO prices disagree?
The Hire tab prints one US PEO rate, while the Pay tab, on the US toggle, prints two: PEO Starter at $110 per employee per month, and PEO Pro at $120. Starter leaves out PEO-sponsored health benefits, and Pro is the card that keeps them, so a team that needs medical coverage should compare Pro with the Hire card.
| Bundle | Core | Advanced | Elite | Health benefits on the card |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| HR + PEO Starter | $110 per employee per month | $127 | $137 | Not included |
| HR + PEO Pro | $120 per employee per month | $137 | $147 | Core says included. The Elite card says they are not |
On that Pro bundle, Core says health benefits are included and Elite says they are not, and the page never explains the split. Ask the order form to name the card, the HR tier, and whether medical is inside the fee. A PEO shortlist is the next read if co-employment is the purchase, and what a PEO costs covers how other vendors structure the fee.
The banner offer, "3 months free of PEO," is not three free months at the start. The terms require a new PEO order form signed between 15 July 2026 and 31 December 2026, with a minimum two-year term, and renewals of an existing PEO line are excluded. Deel credits three months of platform fees at the end of that initial term. The credit does not transfer, and if you end the order early or miss an invoice you repay the full list price for the whole order, including the value of the credit. A small team should read that credit as a two-year lock-in.
What do payroll, HR, and IT cost?
Manage, Pay, and Equip are separate tabs from Hire, so an HR file, a payroll run, or devices are extra unless a bundle includes them. Engagement surveys, recognition, and learning sit inside HR Advanced, and Deel prints no separate Engage price. The visa-eligibility check is free, while the mobility platform and managed immigration service publish no list price and are demo only.
| Plan | Price | Includes |
|---|---|---|
| HR Core | $5 per employee per month | Profiles, org chart, time off, time and attendance, roles, documents, reporting |
| HR Advanced | $19 per employee per month | Core, plus reviews, goals, feedback, learning, surveys, career frameworks, recognition |
| HR Elite | $29 per employee per month | Advanced, plus pay bands, compensation cycles, headcount planning, cost forecasting |
| ATS add-on | From $10 per employee per month | Applicant tracking on any HR plan |
| Global payroll | $29 per employee per month | Payroll in 130+ countries, local filings, a payroll manager on the managed option |
| US payroll | Same self-service figure as global | All 50 states, self-serve or managed. The card labels the printed rate self-service |
| Benefits management | $10 per employee per month | Enrollment and payroll-synced deductions in 130+ countries |
| Payroll Connect | Same per-employee rate as HR Core | One view across in-country payroll vendors |
| Treasury | Same per-employee rate as benefits management | Deel moves and reconciles the payroll funds |
| Expenses | Starting at $8 per employee per month | Receipt capture and payroll reimbursement. Premium items are named, not separately priced |
| IT Starter | Same monthly rate per user as the contractor plan | Device lifecycle, mobile device management, endpoint protection |
| IT Growth | $139 per user per month | Starter plus 24/7 IT support |
| IT Scale | $149 per user per month | Growth plus access management |
US payroll's card does not print a higher figure for the managed service, even though a Deel payroll manager is included when you choose managed. The managed payroll article says the per-person price can fall as headcount grows, that payroll cycles can change it, and that a one-time setup fee may apply. It does not print that fee, so budget the card and get the setup line in writing.
US HR plus US payroll, without PEO, is $22 per employee per month on Core, $39 on Advanced, and $10 more than Advanced on Elite. The Canada HR plus payroll bundle is $35 on Core, $14 more than that on Advanced, and $59 on Elite. Those bundles cost less than stacking the two cards, so price the bundle before you add the standalone rates. A company buying only the HR file should also read what an HRIS costs.
What does a Deel team cost for a year?
The totals below multiply published platform rates by headcount and by 12. They leave out salary, employer contributions, benefits premiums, deposits, foreign exchange, and payment-method fees, and they are our arithmetic, not a Deel quote.
| Team | Arithmetic | Platform fees for 12 months |
|---|---|---|
| 5 international contractors | 5 × $49 × 12 | $2,940 |
| 3 EOR employees | 3 × $599 × 12 | $21,564 |
| 2 EOR employees and 6 contractors | $14,376 for the EOR seats plus $3,528 for the contractors | $17,904 |
| 1 EOR employee | 12 × the EOR monthly rate | $7,188 |
| 1 Contractor of Record | 12 × $325 | $3,900 |
Almost all of the $17,904 on the mixed team is the two EOR seats, so the employees set the bill. Moving one of those seats to Contractor of Record saves $3,288 over the year, and it changes the legal relationship. Do that only when counsel agrees the person can be a contractor.
The deposit is the cash item the year table cannot turn into one dollar. Deel's deposit article says the standard deposit is 1 to 1.5 times all monthly charges, including salary, employer costs, fixed allowances, and the management fee. For three EOR employees, the management-fee slice of a one-month deposit is $1,797, and the cash Deel holds is larger because salary sits inside the same multiple. The deposit is invoiced in the currency of the employment country.
Does Deel charge a deposit, FX fees, or an offboarding fee?
Deel publishes no standalone offboarding fee, but ending an EOR hire can still take up to 60 days. The refund article says the deposit comes back within 60 days after termination is finished and invoices are paid, minus dues, fees, and the final payments. That final invoice can include last salary, unused vacation, severance, and outstanding Deel fees, so stopping the contract is not the same month the cash returns. A refund account in another currency is converted at the FX rate on the refund.
The deposit grows when the contract changes: removing probation is a two-month deposit, and paid time off more than eight days above the legal minimum is two months of monthly salary. Each extra month of notice beyond one month adds a month of deposit, so three months of notice is a three-month deposit. A transfer with accrued time off, seniority, or severance is two months, and a salary or fixed-allowance increase above 20% raises the deposit in proportion. Stacked changes are normally capped at two months, except incentive plans, variable compensation, and a longer notice period.
Early invoicing is the alternative if you would rather prepay than park cash. Deel bills an estimate of next month instead of holding a deposit, and any deposit already paid moves to your Deel balance.
You skip FX by paying an invoice in the currency it was issued in, per Deel's FX article. A euro invoice paid in dollars converts at a forward rate from Deel's banking partners, and Deel publishes no markup against the mid-market rate. The invoice FAQ says payroll invoices are in the employee's local currency, while fee invoices stay in dollars until you pick a payment currency.
Cards from the US or the European Union cost $0.30 plus 2.9%, and cards from anywhere else cost $0.30 plus 3.9%. ACH, SEPA, BACS, a bank wire, Brex, and Coinbase are a flat $5, and Mercury and Wise charge the equivalent. Canada PAD is $10 CAD, and Australia BECS is that same number of Australian dollars. On a $21,564 EOR year, a 2.9% card fee is about $625 before the per-charge $0.30, which is why that invoice should go by ACH.
A non-local contract currency adds $50 per employee per month on top of the management fee, for extra compliance work, where Deel allows it, and Poland paid in euros is the example Deel gives. Employer liability cost is a separate line on every EOR contract, calculated from gross salary, and you cannot opt out. Deel does not publish the percentage, so get the rate from the quote.
On-demand payroll, for a bonus or expense outside the cycle, is a $29 fee per employee on top of the net you advance. Deel waives that fee when it starts the off-cycle for a compliance deadline, including some terminations, or to fix an error. EOR invoices are due five calendar days after issue, and late fees after that are 0.15% of the invoice per day, not compounded. On a $10,000 invoice, Deel's own example, that is $15 a day.
Severance accrual is a separate monthly line where the law ties severance to tenure, and Deel prints no universal rate. A one-month-per-year entitlement is billed as one twelfth of a month of salary each month, which is cash the platform fee does not include.
Is Deel free?
There is no free HR plan and no free contractor plan on the pricing page. HR Core is the cheapest software seat, at the rate in the plan table, and it is a worker file rather than employment in another country. The only free tool on the Manage tab is the visa eligibility check. Deel's pricing FAQ offers a demo, not a trial, and the client pays rather than the worker.
If the job is US payroll for people who are already your employees, the self-service payroll card is the relevant price, and Gusto's pricing and ADP's pricing are the comparisons. Buying EOR for a US team you could run on payroll is the expensive mistake here, because your own entity can already pay those people.
How does Deel compare with Remote and Rippling on price?
Remote's pricing page and its employer of record page, both read on 16 October 2026, start EOR at the same floor as Deel's EOR card. Remote's contractor management starts at $29 per contractor per month. Contractor Management Plus starts at $99 with $100,000 of indemnity per contractor, and Contractor of Record matches Deel's contractor-of-record card.
Remote PEO starts at $99 per employee per month, and global payroll starts at the same figure as contractor management. Remote says there is no setup fee and no standard deposit, though it may ask for a refundable reserve and will say so before you pay. Eligible startups can get 15% off EOR and contractor management for the first 12 months, and equity administration for EOR staff is an extra $39 per employee per month. Remote's review and Deel vs Remote cover the product choice, and Remote on Toolradar is the directory profile.
Rippling's pricing page says plans start at $8 per employee per month plus a monthly base fee, and that the rest is a custom quote. It publishes no EOR or PEO list price, so it cannot sit in a cheapest-EOR ranking from public rates. The Rippling review and Deel vs Rippling are where that quote belongs once you have it.
On published floors, Remote's contractor start is $20 a month under Deel's contractor rate, which is $1,200 a year for the five-contractor team if Remote bills that start rate on every seat. EOR ties at the printed floor, and Remote's PEO start sits below every Deel PEO figure, from the $110 Starter card up through the Hire card. "Starting at" means Remote can quote more, and Deel's EOR card does not use that phrase.
Is Deel worth it for a small team?
Deel is worth the platform fee when you need employees in countries where you will not open an entity, and you want employment, contractors, and the HR file on one invoice. It is a weak buy when every worker is a contractor you will classify yourself, because the contractor rate is then the whole product and cheaper published floors exist. It is also a weak buy for a US-only company that needs payroll and benefits. The PEO and payroll cards are a smaller purchase than EOR, and the two-year promo is a lock-in rather than a discount you feel this quarter.

How we priced this
We read Deel's pricing page on 16 October 2026, including the Hire, Manage, Pay, Equip, and Bundle tabs, plus the help-center articles linked above. Remote and Rippling prices come from their pricing pages the same day. Totals multiply those published rates, and they are not vendor quotes. Louis Corneloup, founder of Toolradar and Dupple, edited the page. See the about page, the editorial policy, and how we rate. Re-check the order form before you sign, and expect this page to be re-read about every 60 days.
FAQ
How much does Deel cost per contractor in 2026?
Deel charges $49 per active contractor contract per month when you classify the worker yourself. Pay-as-you-go months with no work and no adjustment are not charged, and a milestone that spans three calendar months is three fees. An idle active contract can add a small platform fee after two months without a payment. Five contractors for a year of platform fees come to $2,940 before payment-method charges.
How much does Deel EOR cost per employee?
Deel's Hire card is $599 per EOR employee per month, which is $7,188 for one employee over a year in platform fees alone. Salary, statutory employer costs, benefits premiums, the employer liability line, and a deposit of 1 to 1.5 months of all monthly charges sit on top of the card. Deel does not publish an annual discount on that card.
What is Deel Contractor of Record, and what does it cost?
Contractor of Record costs $325 per contractor per month. Deel holds the contract and the classification liability while you direct the work, which is what the higher rate buys. One year is $3,900 in platform fees, against $7,188 for one EOR employee, and the two are not substitutes unless the role can legally be a contractor.
Does Deel have a free HR plan?
No, HR Core is $5 per employee per month for the worker file, time off, and attendance, which is a directory rather than employment abroad. Advanced is $19 and adds reviews, learning, and surveys, and Elite adds compensation planning at the rate in the plan table. The visa eligibility check is free, and employment products are not.
Does Deel require a deposit for EOR hires?
Yes, unless you turn on early invoicing, in which case Deel pre-bills the next month instead. The standard deposit is 1 to 1.5 times salary, employer costs, fixed allowances, and the management fee, refundable after termination and final invoices. Removing probation, or offering a lot of extra paid time off, raises it to about two months.
Does Deel charge foreign exchange fees?
FX applies when you fund an invoice in a different currency from the one it was issued in. Fee invoices stay in dollars until you choose a payment currency, and payroll invoices are in the employee's local currency. Deel uses a banking-partner forward rate and publishes no percentage markup. A non-local-currency contract adds $50 per employee per month.
Is Deel cheaper than Remote?
On pages read 16 October 2026, both EOR floors match Deel's Hire card. Remote's contractor management starts under Deel's contractor card, and Remote's PEO starts at $99, below Deel's $110 Starter card and below the $125 Hire card. Remote charges no standard deposit, and Rippling publishes no EOR list price, so the three cannot be ranked from public pages.
What is Deel's three months free PEO offer?
It is a credit of three months of PEO platform fees at the end of a new two-year order form signed between 15 July 2026 and 31 December 2026, not three free months up front, and renewals of an existing PEO line are excluded. Ending early means you repay the full list price, including the credit.
