Leapsome Review 2026: Modular Pricing, Pros and Cons
What Leapsome's HRIS foundation and Talent Suite modules cost per employee in USD, what a 100-person performance stack adds up to, and four alternatives.
Leapsome is worth it if you want performance reviews, goals and engagement surveys on the same record as your core HR data, and you pay only for the modules you use. The Agentic HRIS Foundation lists at $7 per employee a month, and Performance Reviews adds the same again, with Goals and Engagement Surveys at $4 each.
For 100 employees on reviews, goals and surveys, that is $2,200 a month at list price, the same as Lattice for the same three jobs. Until December 31, 2026, Leapsome waives the Foundation fee for buyers of any Talent Suite module, which cuts the same stack to $1,500 a month. The catch for US teams: Leapsome prepares payroll data but does not run payroll. Prices were read on Leapsome's pricing page on October 17, 2026.
Key factsBest for: People teams that want reviews, goals, surveys and core HR…
- A modular people platform where you pay per employee for each module, with an HRIS underneath and payroll left to your provider.
- Free trial: Leapsome offers a 14-day free trial on its pricing page
- Payroll: Payroll prep and exports only, so pay runs stay with your payroll provider
- Alternatives covered: Lattice, 15Five, Culture Amp, HiBob
Pros
- Every module has a published per-employee price, so a stack can be budgeted before a sales call
- The Foundation fee is waived with any Talent Suite module bought by December 31, 2026
- Recruiting, learning, compensation and time tracking sit on the same record as reviews
Cons
- No native payroll: it prepares and exports payroll changes, so US teams still pay a payroll vendor
- Three or four modules on Foundation cost as much per head as Lattice for the same jobs
LeapsomeLeapsome started as a performance and engagement tool and now sells itself as an HR platform with a core HRIS underneath. That shift is the reason to look at it in 2026: a people team that already pays for reviews in one tool and records in another can now buy both from one vendor, priced module by module. Whether that is a good deal depends on how many modules you actually need, so this review prices the common case instead of the headline rate.
HRpresso data: Toolradar, the software directory we run, tracks 46 performance management tools as of October 17, 2026, and only 20% of them are free, freemium or open source, per its performance management ranking. Leapsome, like Lattice, 15Five and Culture Amp, sits in the paid majority, so the comparison that matters is per-employee cost for the same set of jobs.
If you are still choosing a category, our performance management software guide ranks the wider field.
What is Leapsome?
Leapsome is a people platform with two layers. The first is the Agentic HRIS: employee profiles and org chart, absence management, documents with e-signatures, payroll prep exports, meetings and instant feedback, and analytics. The second is the Talent Suite, a set of modules for performance reviews, recruiting, goals and OKRs, engagement surveys, learning, compensation and time tracking.
Leapsome says more than 2,000 organizations use it, and it has offices in Berlin and New York, with European hosting in Germany. The platform runs in 38 languages and lists SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certification, which matters when a security team reviews a tool that will hold salary and review data.
How Leapsome works
You pick a platform level first, Foundation or Pro, and then add modules, each billed per employee per month. Foundation covers the core HR record with limited custom attributes, workflows and e-signatures. Pro lifts those limits, adding unlimited workflows and multi-step approvals, unlimited analytics with custom reports, and advanced AI agents across the platform.
A typical rollout starts with the record and one module. A people team moving off spreadsheets loads employee profiles, sets absence policies and launches a first review cycle on Performance Reviews, with drag-and-drop calibration and external reviewers available. Goals and engagement surveys follow once managers use the review flow. Leapsome's HRIS page says absence, time and payroll prep follow the rules of each location, and payroll changes are collected and exported to your payroll provider rather than paid out by Leapsome.

Leapsome pricing
Every Leapsome price here was read in USD on Leapsome's pricing page on October 17, 2026. Leapsome publishes one per-employee monthly price for each platform level and module, charges no setup fee, and notes that multi-module and volume discounts are not shown in its estimate. Our cost model takes a 100-person company buying Performance Reviews, Goals and OKRs and Engagement Surveys on the Foundation plan: $2,200 a month, or $26,400 a year, at list price. With the Foundation fee waived under the offer that ends December 31, 2026, the same stack is $1,500 a month, or $18,000 a year.
The alternatives were priced the same way. Lattice's pricing page lists Performance, Goals and OKRs and Engagement per seat, billed annually with a $4,000 minimum, which also comes to $26,400 a year for 100 people. 15Five's pricing page lists Total Platform at $16 per user a month billed annually, or $19,200 a year for 100 people. Culture Amp and HiBob publish no prices. These totals are our arithmetic on list prices, before discounts.

Leapsome pros and cons
What we like
- Every module has a published per-employee price, so a stack can be budgeted before a sales call
- The Foundation fee is waived with any Talent Suite module bought by December 31, 2026
- Recruiting, learning, compensation and time tracking sit on the same record as reviews
What could be better
- No native payroll: it prepares and exports payroll changes, so US teams still pay a payroll vendor
- Three or four modules on Foundation cost as much per head as Lattice for the same jobs
Who Leapsome is for
Leapsome fits a people team that wants reviews, goals and surveys tied to the same employee record, and that is happy to run payroll elsewhere. It is a strong match for European or transatlantic companies, given its German hosting and location-based absence rules, and for teams that already plan work in Jira.
It is a weaker fit for a US company that wants one vendor for HR and payroll: Leapsome exports payroll changes but does not pay anyone, so you would still need Gusto, Rippling or a similar provider. Teams that only want surveys should price 15Five Engage or Lattice Engagement first, since buying the Foundation for survey use alone adds cost with little return. For the survey-only case, see our employee survey tools guide.
Best Leapsome alternatives
If Leapsome is not the right fit, these are the closest options.

|---|---|---|---|
| Leapsome | People teams that want reviews, goals, surveys and core HR records priced module by module | HRIS Foundation $7/employee/mo | Visit → |
| Lattice | US people teams that want a mature performance and engagement suite and already have an HRIS | Performance $10/seat/mo, Goals $8 | Visit → |
| 15Five | Teams that want reviews, OKRs and surveys at the lowest bundled per-user price with manager training | Perform $11/user/mo, Total Platform $16, plus a survey-only Engage tie | Visit → |
| Culture Amp | Companies that treat engagement surveys and people science as the core of the program | Custom quote by headcount, product and service tier | Visit → |
| HiBob | Mid-sized companies that want a full HRIS with native US and UK payroll plus performance tools | Custom quote | Visit → |
The bottom line
Buy Leapsome if you want reviews, goals and surveys on the same record as your core HR data, and you run payroll somewhere else. At list price it costs the same as Lattice for those three jobs, so the deciding factor is the HRIS layer: Leapsome includes one, Lattice does not. The December 31, 2026 offer that waives the Foundation fee makes Leapsome the cheaper of the two for buyers who sign before then.
If the budget is the main constraint, 15Five (Toolradar profile) covers the same jobs for less per head. If surveys and people science drive the program, get a quote from Culture Amp (Toolradar profile). If you need native US payroll in the same system, look at HiBob instead. Leapsome's own Toolradar entry is at Leapsome on Toolradar, and our OKR software and AI for performance reviews guides place it in context.
Methodology: we read Leapsome's pricing, HRIS and product pages and the pricing pages of four direct competitors on October 17, 2026, and priced each at the same 100-person scenario. We did not use Leapsome ourselves, so this review describes what each plan includes, not how it performs day to day.
