TL;DR

15Five sells three per-user plans, all billed annually: Engage at $4, Perform at $11 and Total Platform at $16 per user a month. The pricing page lists no free plan and no free trial. For most people teams that want reviews, goals and engagement surveys in one tool, Perform is the plan to price first. Total Platform adds manager training, so it only earns its higher price if managers will use it.

The biggest strength is a connected cycle of reviews, OKRs and surveys that one tool can run. The biggest catch is that the cheapest plan has no performance reviews, so a real review program starts at Perform. The closest alternatives are Lattice, Culture Amp, Leapsome and Betterworks.

15Five is worth a demo if your managers will run its weekly check-in routine. Its Perform plan sits a little above Lattice's Performance plan per user, so the decision rests on features and habits, not on price.

15Five pairs check-ins and 1:1 agendas with OKRs, 360 feedback and engagement surveys in one product. This review covers what each plan includes, what the bill looks like at a real headcount, and where 15Five asks more of your managers than it gives back.

It is written for HR leaders and people ops managers comparing 15Five with Lattice, Culture Amp, Leapsome and Betterworks.

Toolradar data: We evaluated 44 performance management tools for our October 2026 ranking, and our 15Five listing shows the Engage entry plan with no free plan. The price and feature facts below come from 15Five's own pages, checked October 10, 2026.

This review is built from public sources only, with no third-party review averages. We did not run the software, so every workflow claim is the vendor's.

What is 15Five?

15Five is a people platform built around the manager's weekly routine: check-ins, 1:1s, goals and feedback, with reviews and surveys on top. The product is sold as three core plans, Engage, Perform and Total Platform, plus Compensation packages and Manager Products.

The center of gravity is Perform, which bundles AI-assisted performance reviews, OKRs and goals, 360° feedback, a talent matrix, career paths, an insights dashboard and 15Five Agents. Engage handles employee engagement surveys, targeted assessments, action planning, heat maps and benchmarking.

Total Platform is the two together plus manager training microlearnings. Perform is the first plan that includes reviews, goals and 360 feedback together, so for most HR teams the decision turns on that tier.

15Five says it is trusted by over 3,000 customers and serves 250,000 employees. Those are its own claims from its website, and we have not checked them against any other source.

The Toolradar tool page for 15Five carries the same product in our directory, and the company's own product pages are the source for every feature named here.

How 15Five works

We did not run the software, so this section describes the workflow as 15Five's pages present it, and the claims are the vendor's. The rhythm is weekly: managers hold 1:1s with shared agendas, employees and managers exchange feedback between review cycles, and HR runs review and survey windows on top.

Engagement surveys run through Engage, with heat maps and action planning that managers can act on.

Manager development is sold separately from the core plans. Manager Products Content gives managers an on-demand learning library and courses, and Total Platform bundles manager training microlearnings with Engage and Perform.

If you already buy a course catalogue, compare it with our learning management systems guide before paying for both.

For a company early in building its HR function, our HR software for startups guide covers the tools that usually sit around a review platform.

The pricing page does not describe onboarding, data import or integrations. In our view that gap matters more for a review cycle than for a survey, because a review cycle needs the org chart and manager assignments in place before the first form opens. Ask 15Five to put those steps in writing during the demo.

15Five key features

AI-assisted performance reviewsEssential
Perform lists AI-assisted performance reviews as a core item, next to OKRs, 360 feedback and a talent matrix. The pricing page does not say how much of a review the AI drafts, so ask for a demo of the review flow with your own template before you rely on it.
OKRs, goals and 360 feedbackEssential
Perform bundles OKRs and goals with 360 feedback, so a review and the goals behind it sit in the same plan. You do not buy goal tracking as a separate module.
Engagement surveys and benchmarking
Engage covers employee engagement surveys, targeted assessments, action planning, heat maps and benchmarking. It is the entry plan, and it has no performance review workflow, so it suits a survey-first buyer only.
Compensation packages
Compensation Base at $9 per user a month ties pay decisions to performance data. Compensation + adds Mercer real-time salary benchmarking on top of the base package, priced per user as well.
Kona AI coaching and manager products
Kona Coach runs at $19 per manager a month and Kona Notetaker at $2 per employee a month, both billed annually. Manager Products Content at $49 per manager a month adds an on-demand learning library, and Coaching is sold per credit at $399.

15Five pricing

Methodology: we checked 15Five's pricing page on October 10, 2026, and quoted only list prices shown there. The page is marked 'Updated February 2026' and says pricing is subject to change. The scenario below uses a 50-employee company with 8 managers, all at list price and billed annually.

The three core plans are priced per user, billed annually. Engage is the entry tier, Perform is the middle tier, and Total Platform, the plan 15Five marks Most Popular (read 19 October 2026), includes Engage and Perform plus manager training.

At 50 employees, Engage comes to $2,400 a year, Perform to $6,600 and Total Platform to $9,600. Those are list-price multiplications, not quotes, and they assume every employee is a billed user.

Add-ons change the total fast. Manager Products Content at $49 per manager a month adds $4,704 a year for 8 managers. Kona Notetaker at $2 per employee adds $1,200 a year for 50 employees, and Kona Coach at $19 per manager is extra again. Coaching is priced at $399 per credit, so the bill depends on how many credits you buy.

Put together, a 50-person company with eight managers that buys Perform and Manager Products Content pays $11,304 a year at list price. Total Platform alone costs $9,600 and already includes manager training microlearnings, so the real question is which manager content your managers will use.

Against Lattice, the comparison is closer than the headline prices suggest. Lattice lists Performance at $10 per seat a month and sets a $4,000 minimum annual agreement, which is more than the full Engage bill for 50 people.

At 50 seats, Lattice Performance comes to $6,000 a year at list price, while 15Five Perform comes to $6,600.

Limits to plan for. 15Five publishes no free plan, no free trial and no minimum spend for its core plans. Its FAQ says only that some optional add-ons may carry minimums. Its buttons send buyers to Book a Demo or Let's chat, so expect a sales conversation before the first invoice.

Ask for a written quote that lists every add-on by name and seat count, and get the billing term in writing.

15Five pros and cons

What we like

  • Perform bundles AI-assisted reviews, 360 feedback, OKRs and a talent matrix in one plan.
  • Core prices are public and per user, so a budget takes minutes to model.
  • Engage gives a low-cost way to start with engagement surveys before buying reviews.

What could be better

  • No free plan or free trial is published, and the buttons lead to a demo or a chat.
  • Engage has no performance review workflow, so a review program starts at Perform.
  • Add-ons such as Kona Coach and Coaching sit outside the core price and raise the total.

Who 15Five is for

15Five suits a people team that already runs manager 1:1s and wants the review cycle to feel continuous. Teams that will use the weekly check-ins, OKRs and survey cadence get the most from Perform. The company publishes no minimum spend on its core plans, so a smaller team can start without the annual minimum that Lattice sets.

It is a weaker fit in three cases. If you only need surveys, Engage is inexpensive, but it has no review workflow, and a dedicated tool may go deeper. Our employee survey tools guide covers those options.

If you need a system of record for payroll and employee data, 15Five's pages list no payroll or HRIS module, so pair it with one. Our HRIS for small business guide covers that side.

And if managers will not run check-ins, the weekly rhythm 15Five depends on will not happen, and you pay for a dashboard nobody opens.

Teams whose priority is goal-setting at scale should compare the goal-first tools in our OKR software guide before committing to a review platform.

The bottom line

15Five is worth a demo for people teams that will run weekly check-ins, and Perform is the plan to price first. The core prices are per user and public, the feature list under Perform is broad, and Engage gives a cheap way to start with surveys. The trade-offs are the missing free trial, the gap between Perform and Total Platform, and the fact that most of the value depends on managers running the routine.

Buy 15Five if reviews, OKRs and engagement have to live in one tool and you can name the managers who will run the cadence. Look at Lattice if you want a per-seat platform with public module prices and accept an annual minimum. Choose Culture Amp if engagement analytics matter more than the review cycle and a quote is acceptable. Try Leapsome first if a free trial decides it, and consider Betterworks for organizations focused on goals. Frequently asked questions

How much does 15Five cost?

15Five publishes three core plans on its pricing page, all per user and billed annually: Engage, Perform and Total Platform. Engage starts at $4 a month and Total Platform costs $16, with Perform priced in between. Add-ons such as manager content and Kona AI tools are extra. At 50 employees, Perform comes to $6,600 a year at list price before any add-ons.

Is there a free 15Five plan or free trial?

No. The pricing page lists no free plan and no free trial, and its buttons send buyers to Book a Demo or Let's chat. Leapsome's pricing page lists a 14-day free trial, and none of the other vendor pricing pages we read did, so a trial-first buyer should start there.

Is 15Five worth it?

For teams that will run weekly check-ins, reviews and goals in one tool, yes, and Perform is the plan to price first. It is a weaker buy if you need only surveys, since Engage has no review workflow, or if you need payroll or a system of record, which its pages do not list.

Is 15Five cheaper than Lattice?

Not on the Performance tier. Lattice lists Performance at $10 per seat a month, while 15Five's Perform plan costs a dollar more per user. The bigger difference is the minimum: Lattice sets a $4,000 annual minimum agreement, and 15Five publishes none for its core plans. At 50 seats, Lattice Performance comes to $6,000 a year at list price, against $6,600 for Perform.

What are the best 15Five alternatives?

The closest are Lattice, Culture Amp, Leapsome and Betterworks. Lattice is the most direct per-seat rival at a similar Performance price. Culture Amp suits teams that buy on engagement analytics and prices through a quote. Leapsome offers a 14-day free trial, and Betterworks lists Performance at $8 per user a month, with goal depth as its strength.
