ClockShark Review
The two plans, the base fee plus per-user pricing, the three-year term with a yearly inflation uplift, and the crew sizes where Workyard, Connecteam or busybusy cost less.
ClockShark is worth it in 2026 for a construction or field-service crew of roughly 5 to 15 people that wants job costing, scheduling and GPS in one app and can commit for three years. Standard is a monthly base fee plus a fee per user, so a 10-person crew pays $137 a month, read on the ClockShark pricing page on 19 October 2026.
The contract is the catch. Every plan carries a three-year term, and the ClockShark terms let the per-user fee rise on each anniversary by the change in the US Consumer Price Index plus up to 5%. A crew that wants month-to-month freedom should price Workyard, Connecteam or busybusy first.

- Contract: A three-year term applies to every plan, and services renew automatically
- Trial: 14 days with every Pro feature, extendable on request; there is no free plan
- Alternatives covered: Workyard, Connecteam, Buddy Punch, busybusy, QuickBooks Time

- The trial runs 14 days on every Pro feature and can be extended, with data carried over.
Cons
- Every plan carries a three-year term, and the per-user fee can rise each year by CPI-U plus up to 5%.
- At 25 users Standard costs more than every rival priced here.
ClockSharkClockShark sells a time clock built around jobs rather than shifts: workers clock in to a job and a task, GPS stamps the punch, and the hours roll into job costing and payroll exports. That focus suits contractors. The pricing model does not suit everyone, because a base fee, a per-user fee and a three-year term stack up faster than the sticker suggests.
Toolradar data: Toolradar tracks 107 time tracking tools as of 19 October 2026, and the median cheapest paid plan among the 42 that publish a price is $6.50 a month, per its time tracking ranking. ClockShark's per-user fee alone sits above that median before its base fee, which tells you it is priced as a construction platform, not a basic clock. Its profile is on ClockShark on Toolradar.
This review prices Standard and Pro for a 10-person and a 25-person crew against Buddy Punch, Connecteam, Workyard, busybusy and QuickBooks Time, and reads the contract clauses that decide the three-year bill. Every price comes from the vendor's own page, read in October 2026. HRpresso runs no test lab, so this is a pricing and terms review, not a hands-on test.
What is ClockShark?
ClockShark is a cloud time clock and scheduling app for field teams, with iOS and Android apps for workers and a web dashboard for the office. Employees punch in from a phone, pick the job and task, and each punch carries GPS. Managers build drag-and-drop schedules with job addresses and documents, approve time, and push hours to accounting and payroll tools.
The company says more than 9,500 companies use it, and the feature list leans on construction needs: job and task tracking, built-in Spanish, task checklists and a feature called JobReady on both plans, with advanced job costing, mileage and shift wrap-up compliance forms on Pro.
How ClockShark works
Sign-up opens a 14-day trial with every Pro feature, and ClockShark offers to extend it if one pay period is not enough. Data entered during the trial carries over when you subscribe. There is no free plan after that.
The bill has two parts: a monthly base fee for the account and a monthly fee for each user. ClockShark's pricing FAQ says you pay only for users who are active, prorated by the days they were active. The terms add a floor: your initial billed user count becomes your minimum commitment, and on a term longer than monthly, seats you add join that commitment and cannot be removed before the term ends.
ClockShark key features
ClockShark pricing
ClockShark lists two plans on its ClockShark pricing page: Standard at $42 a month plus $9.50 per user per month, and Pro at $63 a month plus $11.50 per user per month, invoiced in US dollars. A three-year contract term applies to all pricing plans. Prices were read on 19 October 2026.
Scenario one, a 10-person crew: Standard costs $137 a month and Pro $178 a month, or $1,644 and $2,136 for the first year, our arithmetic on the printed rates. Over the three-year term that is at least $4,932 on Standard and $6,408 on Pro, because the ClockShark terms let the per-user fee only rise, by the CPI-U change over the prior 12 months plus up to 5%, on each contract anniversary.
Scenario two, 25 people: Standard comes to $279.50 a month and Pro to $350.50 at year-one rates. For the same crew, Connecteam's Operations Advanced plan stays at $49 a month on a yearly plan because it covers the first 30 users, Workyard Starter is $150 at $6 per user billed annually, and Buddy Punch Pro is $193.75 with its base fee. ClockShark is the most expensive option at both headcounts, and the gap grows with every hire.
Methodology: list prices only, no negotiated quotes, with ClockShark's plan rates applied to each headcount. Competitor prices were read the same day on the Workyard, Connecteam, Buddy Punch, busybusy and QuickBooks Time pricing pages. Totals are our arithmetic, before tax.

Who ClockShark is for
Buy ClockShark if you run a construction or field-service crew of about 5 to 15 people that bills by job, wants scheduling and GPS in one app, and expects to keep the same tool for three years. Pro earns its premium when job costing, mileage and PTO tracking would otherwise need separate tools. Our construction time clock ranking sets it in that field.
Skip it if headcount swings with the season or the business might change direction within three years. The minimum commitment and the yearly uplift turn a flexible-looking per-user price into a fixed obligation. Flat-rate Connecteam, explained in our Connecteam pricing guide, and the free tiers in our free time clock apps list fit that buyer better.
Skip it too if you only need attendance for fixed sites. Our time clock software ranking and Homebase review cover clocks priced per location.

The bottom line
ClockShark is a solid job-costing time clock with an expensive contract. Buy Standard for a 5 to 15 person crew that bills by job and will keep the same tool for three years, and step up to Pro when mileage, PTO and advanced job costing would otherwise need another app.
Pass if your headcount is seasonal or you cannot sign a three-year term, because the initial user count becomes a minimum and the per-user fee can climb by inflation plus up to 5% every year. Workyard is the cheaper per-user construction clock, Connecteam the flat-rate one, and busybusy the one with a free tier.
Before signing, ask ClockShark in writing for the uplift percentage it will apply, whether the base fee is indexed too, and what happens to the user minimum if the crew shrinks. Compare with our Buddy Punch review, the Connecteam vs Homebase comparison, Connecteam on Toolradar, the time tracking software ranking and, if payroll is next, our small business payroll guide.
