Homebase Pricing 2026: Plans, Per-Location Costs, Payroll

Homebase is free for one location and 10 employees, then $70 or $120 per location a month on Plus and All-in-One, 20% less annually. Payroll is $49 plus $6 per head.

Homebase Pricing 2026: Plans, Per-Location Costs, Payroll

Homebase costs $0 on Basic for one location and up to 10 employees, then $30 a month per location on Essentials, $70 on Plus and $120 on All-in-One, each with unlimited employees and 20% off on an annual plan. Payroll is an add-on at $49 a month plus $6 per employee paid, free for the first six months on the current offer. A 25-person restaurant on one address pays $288 a year on annual Essentials.

Prices were read on the Homebase pricing page on 17 October 2026. Toolradar data: on Homebase's profile at Toolradar, the software directory we run, its entry paid plan ranks joint 18th of the 29 payroll tools with a verified entry price, where the median is $25 a month, as of October 2026. By the head rather than by the address, though, it is one of the cheapest clocks a 25-person site can buy, and that per-location logic is what this guide prices out.

At a glance

Plan Monthly billing Annual billing, per month Employees What it adds
Basic Free Free Up to 10, one location Basic scheduling, basic time tracking, POS integration
Essentials $30 per location $24 per location Unlimited Advanced scheduling, advanced time tracking, team communication
Plus $70 per location $56 per location Unlimited AI scheduling assistant, PTO and time-off controls, departments and permissions
All-in-One $120 per location $96 per location Unlimited Employee onboarding, labor cost management, HR and compliance

Every paid plan is priced per physical address, and Homebase defines a location as a separate street address, so two restaurants in the same city are two locations. Headcount never changes the plan price on the paid tiers, which is why the model rewards big rosters on few sites and punishes small crews spread over many. A 14-day trial of All-in-One needs no card, and an account that picks nothing at the end drops to Basic if it fits the 10-person, one-location limit.

What does each Homebase plan include?

Basic is a real free plan, not a trial. It covers one location and up to 10 employees with basic scheduling, a basic time clock, the employee mobile app, job posts with applicant tracking and POS and payroll integrations, features Homebase points out that many rivals charge for. A coffee shop with eight staff can run on it indefinitely. The ceiling is the eleventh hire or the second address, either of which forces a paid plan.

Essentials is the plan most single sites land on. It lifts the employee cap, upgrades scheduling and time tracking to the advanced versions and adds team communication. At that annual rate it is the cheapest paid tier in this guide for any site above 10 people, and Homebase itself recommends starting here rather than on Basic.

Plus adds the controls managers ask for. The AI scheduling assistant, PTO and time-off policies, and departments with permissions sit here. Homebase steers teams above 10 people, or those about to grow, to this tier, and the current promotion bundles Plus free for six months when payroll is added. At $56 per location on an annual plan it costs $32 more than Essentials per site, which is the price of handing schedule approval to a shift lead.

All-in-One is the HR tier. Employee onboarding, labor cost management and HR and compliance tools join the stack at $96 per location a month on annual billing, a fifth more when billed monthly. It replaces a light HRIS for a hospitality or retail group that has none, and it is the plan the free trial runs on. A group that already runs an HRIS pays for overlap.

What does Homebase cost for one, three and five locations?

The table multiplies the per-location rate by the number of addresses, on annual billing, before tax and before payroll or add-ons. Headcount is irrelevant above Basic, so a 60-person site and a 15-person site pay the same. These are our calculations on the published rates, not quotes.

Locations Essentials per month Plus per month All-in-One per month Essentials per year All-in-One per year
1 $24 $56 $96 $288 $1,152
3 $72 $168 $288 $864 $3,456
5 $120 $280 $480 $1,440 $5,760

Monthly billing adds 25% to every cell: a three-location group on Essentials pays $90 a month instead of $72. The yearly savings badge on the pricing page works out to $72 per location on Essentials, $168 on Plus and $288 on All-in-One, so the annual plan is worth it for any site that expects to be open in twelve months.

The shape of the bill is the lesson. One site with 40 staff pays the single-location Essentials rate, less than a dollar per head. Five sites with eight staff each cost five times that for the same 40 people, and the free Basic plan is no help because it covers a single address. Our Homebase review weighs that trade against the per-user tools.

How much is Homebase Payroll?

Homebase Payroll is an add-on on every plan, including Basic, at $49 a month plus $6 per employee paid, with a $29 a month rate for teams of up to five. The current offer, with terms, makes the first six months free and bundles Plus for the same period. Unlike the plan fee, payroll is priced by the head, so it is the line that grows with hiring.

Team paid Payroll per month after the free months Payroll per year
5 employees $59 on the small-team rate $708
15 employees $139 $1,668
25 employees $199 $2,388
60 employees across 3 sites $409 $4,908

Payroll runs on hours from the Homebase clock, calculates wages, pays by direct deposit and files taxes automatically. For a 25-person site that means Essentials plus payroll costs $223 a month on an annual plan once the promotion ends, which is in the same band as a standalone payroll service before the scheduling and clock are counted. Our best payroll software for small business guide compares the standalone options.

What are the Homebase add-ons and extra fees?

The add-ons on the pricing page are priced per location or per use, and each can be bolted onto any plan.

Add-on Price What it does
Tip Manager $25 a month per location Imports tips from the POS, calculates the pool and adds them to timesheets
Task Manager $13 a month per location Builds and assigns opening, closing and recurring task lists
Background checks $30 each Runs checks inside Homebase during hiring
Job post boosts From $50 per post Pushes a job listing further on the boards
Hiring Assistant From $99 a month Screens and schedules applicants for you

Tip Manager is the one restaurants should price first, because it repeats per location: a three-site group on Essentials that adds tips pays $75 a month for the add-on on top of $72 for the plans, more than doubling the bill. Task Manager does the same at a smaller scale. The Hiring Assistant at $99 a month costs more than All-in-One on an annual plan, so it only makes sense for a business hiring every month.

Is Homebase cheaper than Deputy, Connecteam, When I Work or Buddy Punch?

For one address above 10 people, yes against the per-user tools, and roughly level with Connecteam's flat rate. The table prices a 25-person site on each vendor's entry plan that includes a time clock, on the cheapest published billing term, read on each vendor's pricing page on 17 October 2026.

Tool Entry plan with a clock, 25 people on one site Pricing model Free plan
Homebase $24 a month on annual Essentials Per location, unlimited employees Basic, one location, 10 employees
Connecteam $29 a month on yearly Operations Basic, up to 30 users Flat fee for 30 users, then per extra user Small Business, up to 10 users
When I Work $62.50 a month on Essentials for scheduling; time and attendance is an add-on without a published price Per user None, 14-day trial
Deputy $162.50 a month on Core Per user, with a minimum monthly invoice None
Buddy Punch $193.75 a month on annual Pro Per user plus a $19 base fee None, 14-day trial

Deputy and Buddy Punch cost six to eight times Homebase for that site, and the gap widens with every hire. Connecteam is the only rival in the same price band, and its flat fee covers 30 users across any number of sites, which beats Homebase for a crew that moves between addresses. The picture reverses below 10 people on one site, where Homebase Basic and Connecteam's free plan both cost nothing, and our best free employee scheduling apps guide covers that bracket. The Homebase vs Deputy comparison and the Connecteam pricing guide go deeper on the two closest calls, and the Buddy Punch review covers the per-user clock for field crews.

Which Homebase plan should you choose?

Stay on Basic if you have one address and 10 or fewer people, and plan to move the day the eleventh hire starts. Choose annual Essentials for one site above 10 people, since the employee cap disappears and the price is the lowest in this guide. Choose Plus when a manager other than the owner needs to approve time off and schedules, or when the payroll promotion gives it to you free for six months anyway. Choose All-in-One only for a group that has no HRIS and wants onboarding and labor cost reports in the same login.

Budget payroll and Tip Manager with the plan, not after it. A 25-person restaurant on Essentials with payroll and tips pays $248 a month on an annual plan once the free months end, ten times the plan fee alone. Our HR software for restaurants and shift scheduling software rankings place that total against the restaurant-first tools, and the time clock software ranking covers the clock on its own.

How we priced this

Every Homebase figure was read on the Homebase pricing page on 17 October 2026, including the annual rates shown under the pricing page's billing toggle. Competitor prices come from each vendor's pricing page on the same day, in US dollars before tax, on the cheapest published billing term. Scenario totals are our multiplication of the published rates. HRpresso runs no test lab and holds no Homebase account, so nothing here is a negotiated rate or a hands-on timing; promotions change, so confirm the current offer before signing.

FAQ

How much does Homebase cost per month in 2026?

Homebase is free on Basic for one location and up to 10 employees, then $30 per location a month on Essentials, $70 on Plus and a higher rate on All-in-One when billed monthly, as read on its pricing page in October 2026. Annual billing cuts each paid plan by 20%, to $24, $56 and $96 per location.

Is Homebase free?

Yes, for one location and up to 10 employees. The Basic plan includes basic scheduling, a basic time clock, the employee app, job posts and POS integration with no card and no expiry. A team of 11 or a second address needs a paid plan, and the 14-day All-in-One trial drops to Basic only if the account fits those limits.

How much is Homebase Payroll?

Homebase Payroll costs $49 a month plus $6 per employee paid on any plan, or $29 a month for teams of up to five, and the current promotion makes the first six months free. A 15-person team pays $139 a month after that, and payroll is the only Homebase charge that rises with headcount.

Does Homebase charge per employee or per location?

Per location on every plan. A location is a separate physical address, and the paid plans allow unlimited employees at each one. Only Basic has an employee cap, at 10, and only payroll and background checks are priced per person.

Is Homebase cheaper than Deputy?

For any site above about five people, yes. Deputy Core costs $6.50 per user a month with a minimum monthly invoice, so 25 people pay $162.50, while the same site pays the single-location Essentials rate on an annual Homebase plan with unlimited staff. Deputy's per-user model only wins for a very small team that still needs its auto-scheduling.

Does Homebase have a contract?

The paid plans bill monthly or annually, with the annual term 20% cheaper, and you can change plan at any time with the new plan starting at the next billing cycle. The payroll promotion carries its own terms, so read them before relying on the six free months.
