Breezy HR vs JazzHR 2026: ATS Pricing Compared

Compare Breezy HR and JazzHR by free-plan limits, active roles, annual prices, recruiting workflows and add-ons.

Breezy HR illustration showing interview scheduling and a candidate pipeline

Breezy HR is the lower-risk starting point for a single active vacancy: its Bootstrap plan is free and permits one active position or pool. JazzHR Hero lists $1,000 per year and says job postings start at three per month, subject to its terms. For regular hiring, compare the specific job limits, automation and offer workflow before choosing a plan.

We checked Breezy's pricing page and JazzHR's pricing page on October 28, 2026. Prices verified October 2026 on the vendors' pages. JazzHR's standard pricing has eligibility restrictions, and Breezy shows annual and monthly prices. Verify your organization's quote and current contract before purchase.

Toolradar data: Our HR and recruiting directory reports 534 tools evaluated in its October 28, 2026 ranking. That count covers the wider HR category, not only applicant tracking systems; the comparison below examines two ATS products.

An active-position limit and a monthly posting allowance are different measures. A position can stay open for weeks, while a posting allowance is tied to the vendor's billing and job-distribution terms. Ask both providers how they count reopened roles, candidate pools, duplicated jobs and third-party board postings before comparing limits.

Price, billing and the true first year

Breezy lists Bootstrap as free, with one active position or pool, unlimited users and candidate access subject to its stated 30-day condition. Its Startup tier shows $189 on the monthly display and an annual option shown as a lower monthly figure. The annual price is a commitment; confirm the amount billed upfront and renewal terms in checkout instead of multiplying a rounded display and assuming the result is the invoice.

JazzHR lists Hero at $1,000 a year billed annually, equivalent to about $83.33 per month when divided by 12. Plus is $3,480 per year, or $290 per month averaged over a year; Pro is $5,508, or $459 per month averaged over a year. These are annual commitments, not monthly cancellation terms. On the public page, standard pricing does not apply to staffing or recruiting agencies, HR service providers, franchises, multi-location businesses, organizations with over 250 employees and certain other cases at JazzHR's discretion.

At the posted rates, a company paying Breezy Startup monthly for 12 unchanged months would spend $2,268 before add-ons and tax. The JazzHR Hero annual price is $1,000, a difference of $1,268 for that example. This is not a like-for-like comparison: Startup lists unlimited positions, while Hero's job-posting allowance begins at three per month and is subject to terms. A team hiring continuously must price the plan and usage it needs, not just the first tier.

Price verdict: Breezy offers a free entry for a single active role. JazzHR's published annual Hero rate is lower than a year of Breezy Startup at the displayed monthly rate, but verify job allowances and eligibility before treating the difference as a saving.

One vacancy versus a steady hiring pipeline

Bootstrap's one active position or pool is useful when a small business recruits occasionally and can close or archive one role before starting another. Breezy says candidates can apply or be added to an active item. If several managers need to hire concurrently, the free cap becomes an operational decision rather than a small line in the pricing table.

Breezy Startup lists unlimited positions and candidate automations. That is useful when hiring runs across several job families at once, but a buyer still needs to check any fair-use terms, external board fees and the limits of integrations. Unlimited positions do not mean unlimited spend on paid job advertising.

JazzHR Hero lists an applicant tracking system, email templates and job postings starting at three per month. Its Plus tier lists up to 200 active jobs, subject to the vendor's conditions. The pricing page reserves eligibility and syndication decisions and notes third-party board restrictions. Get the exact count and overage treatment in writing for your organization.

Volume verdict: Breezy Bootstrap fits a single open item and Startup lists unlimited positions. JazzHR's quoted allowance may fit a modest hiring schedule, but the vendor's posting rules need clarification for your workload. The applicant tracking systems guide covers additional ATS options.

Automation and screening

Breezy Startup lists candidate automations, questionnaires, bulk actions, interview self-scheduling and email/calendar integrations. Its pricing page describes stage actions that can send messages or schedule interviews when a candidate moves through the pipeline. Those features are useful only if someone owns the templates and reviews candidates who do not follow the expected path.

JazzHR lists AI-powered candidate matching, structured interviews and configurable task automation on Plus. Hero lists email message templates and the core ATS. Ask JazzHR which steps are available at each level and whether any usage-based features or integrations add fees. Its FAQ says some add-ons are billed according to consumption.

Automation does not remove the need for a consistent hiring process. A recruiter should define selection criteria before turning on candidate filtering, check who can access applicant information and set a retention policy. Ask vendors for documentation on data handling and whether the organization can audit decisions. For broader context, see our HR software guide.

Automation verdict: Breezy describes several workflow features on Startup; JazzHR highlights configurable automation on Plus. Compare the actual steps, permissions and costs in a trial or demonstration rather than assuming identical automation from similar labels.

Offers, interviews and collaboration

Breezy lists customizable interview guides, scorecards and electronic signatures on Growth, with offer management and approvals on Business. JazzHR lists structured interviews on Plus and offers and e-signatures on Pro, with the public feature matrix describing some functions as add-ons. Ask for the complete contract because add-ons and included features can vary by plan.

For a hiring team, the important distinction is where a candidate moves from interview to offer. Write down who creates the offer, who approves compensation, whether the hiring manager can view candidate notes, and where signed documents live after hiring. A system that handles applications well may still need an HRIS or document process after the offer is accepted.

Breezy lists unlimited users in Bootstrap. That does not mean every permission or reporting feature is present in the free tier. JazzHR's matrix discusses roles and privileges; confirm available permission levels for the exact plan. Our startup HR software guide and restaurant HR software guide consider the wider operations that follow hiring.

Collaboration verdict: Both provide ways to organize a hiring process, but advanced offer and reporting requirements can move the buyer to a higher tier. Test the whole workflow with a sample vacancy before deciding.

Add-ons, AI and candidate data

Breezy lists optional products including SMS, onboarding and Breezy Intelligence, with published starting prices or credit amounts on its plan page. It also says its AI credits never expire. Check the current amount included in a trial, the unit used by each action and which roles can initiate a charge before buying credits.

JazzHR states that certain add-on features use consumption-based pricing and recommends monitoring usage in the platform. Ask for an estimate using your own monthly activity, not a vendor's generic example. A small team that sends only a few messages might face a different cost from a company that screens hundreds of applicants at once.

Candidate information deserves the same scrutiny as the invoice. Review what data is exported when the contract ends, how the vendor handles retention and deletion, whether integrations receive candidate details and who can retrieve historical applications. Breezy says its free plan provides unlimited access to candidates added within the last 30 days; understand that constraint before relying on the free tier as a long-term archive.

Data verdict: Treat the free-plan access window, add-on consumption and exit process as contract questions. An inexpensive first month is less useful if the team cannot retrieve the records or workflows it needs later.

Which should you choose?

Choose Breezy Bootstrap when your team has one active role and the free tier's candidate-access conditions are acceptable. Consider Startup if you regularly need several live positions and the listed workflow features. Confirm the annual bill before switching from monthly billing, and price any messaging or onboarding add-ons separately.

Consider JazzHR Hero when its annual commitment, job-posting allowance and eligibility rules fit your hiring cadence. Ask about Plus when you need the vendor's structured interview and automation features, and Pro when offers, signatures and advanced reporting are core requirements. The exact number of concurrent roles and monthly postings should drive the quote.

Before signing, run the same sample hiring process through each product: publish a role, collect an application, schedule an interview, record a decision and prepare an offer. Ask for a written implementation and export plan. For a different scale, our Greenhouse vs Lever comparison and Workable pricing guide cover other approaches; the payroll software overview and small-business payroll guide address the separate task of paying the employee after hiring. Toolradar maintains a Breezy HR profile and a JazzHR profile.

How we compared

We read the vendors' public pricing pages on October 28, 2026 and calculated annual equivalents from the stated billing terms. The tiers are not identical bundles. We did not use, test or independently audit either product. Verify the price, posting allowance, features and data terms for your organization before buying.
